In early 2018, we created ForTheBee Company out of a love for nature and bees.
ForTheeBee Co creates buzz about saving the bees with some funky tee shirts.
We aim to bring the cause to the mainstream and raise awareness across the globe. It all starts with a powerful message. Even better, we donate 50% of our profits to our friends at Save The Honeybee Foundation (European Greenpeace project. They said the risk for agriculture in Europe are the Bees in Decline. The solution is in changing the current destructive chemical-intensive agricultural system into an ecological farming system), Planet Bee and Bee City. Their work is important, so we do everything we can to help these foundations thrive.
Bee populations have been on the decline since the late 1990s, which is troublesome because bees are deeply connected with many ecosystems. They pollinate 80% of all flowering plants, including most of the crops we eat. It's also representative of a larger issue - the destructive effects that we as human beings are having on nature.
Nothing in nature operates in a vacuum; if the bees are in decline, so is the health of our planet, and by extension, our health as human beings. If we want to help nature, we should start with the bees. And we should take action before it's too late. Bees and other pollinating insects play an essential role in ecosystems. A third of all our food depends on their pollination. A world without pollinators would be devastating for food production.
Who would pollinate all the crops? Hand-pollination is extremely labour-intensive, slow and expensive. The economic value of bees’ pollination work has been estimated around € 265 billion annually, worldwide. So, also from a purely economic point of view, it pays to protect the bees.
There are so many ways you can help as well (even without spending a dime). Here's the thing... educating yourself is the first step.
